DOUBLE TREADLE MODEL PICTURED | HitchHiker Single Treadle or Double Treadle Spinning Wheel by Merlin Tree
An inexpensive compact portable wheel, the HitchHiker weighs only 9 lbs and is airline compatible. It is made of Baltic birch plywood and selected hardwoods and is finished in oil. It is a direct drive: a drive ring on the flyer shaft is driven from the side of the wheel with Scotch tension braking. Treadle can be ordered double,left or right side. Wheel diameter: 14"; ratios: 7, 9 and (New!) 13 to 1. Orifice height: 17 1/8". Includes 3 bobbins, threading hook, wheel oil, complete 3 whorl set, and built-in Kate.
The wheel is compatible with Ashford bobbins in the standard size and the Jumbo bobbins as well when accompanied with the Merlin Tree Jumbo flyer (not included with the wheel)

It is 16" high and made of Baltic birch plywood and selected hardwoods and is finished in oil. It is a direct drive: a drive ring on the flyer shaft is driven from the side of the wheel with Scotch tension braking. Treadle can be ordered double, left or right side.
