Hi! I'm Beth, a stay at home Mom who loves to make things. My family and I live on top of a gorgeous mountain in northern Virginia near the Appalachian Trail. I have a wonderful husband who loves me despite my addictions and two funny and fabulous children who make life interesting whether I like it or not. We also have 4 cats that I love but drive me crazy and a sweet Russian tortoise named George who wanders around the house and occasionally picks movies to watch.

After much eye rolling and shaking my head I decided to set up this site so I would have a place to post pictures of the things I'm working on, ideas, what the kids are up to, and to just rant, laugh, and ponder in general. I'm enjoying it and I hope you do to. I've found that if I don't laugh about all the nutty stuff that goes on (good and bad) I'd probably strangle somebody and wind up in jail. I don't want to do that...........I doubt they'd let me knit in jail and if they did I'm sure my choice of yarns would be severely limited. This alone is enough to keep me out of trouble, or at least make sure I don't get caught ;)

I have two Etsy shops.........a definite sign of insanity. Blue Mountain Handcrafts (bluemtnhandcrafts.etsy.com) is where I have my handspun yarn, spinning batts, Caddy Sax project bags, needle/hook cases, Eric's fiber tools, hand dyed top and roving and whatever else I come up with.  The Beth1818 Etsy shop is my treasure chest of vintage costume and fine sterling silver, gold, and gold fill jewelry.........I love that sparkley stuff!!!  Have a look around and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Later alligator!
Beth
